International star Mitch Polzak brings high-energy roots music to El Campanil Theatre
Looking for something to shake up your weekday routine?
El Campanil Theatre is bringing live music back to Antioch with a free afternoon concert that is worth clearing your calendar for.
On Thursday, March 19 at 1:00 PM, international rockabilly star Mitch Polzak and The Royal Deuces take the stage for an afternoon of high-energy roots music.
Polzak is not your average performer. Standing at 6'5" with what fans describe as "larger than life energy," he is a guitarist, banjoist, singer, songwriter, and musical historian all rolled into one. He was recently inducted into The Western Swing Hall of Fame and has earned two Ameripolitan Music Award nominations.
His style? Think Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash energy with the storytelling heart of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. Polzak can whip a room into a dancing frenzy one moment, then have you hanging on every word of a Honky Tonk ballad the next.
With seven albums under his belt — including releases on his own Polzak Productions label and Spain's Sleazy Records — he has built a following that stretches far beyond the Bay Area.
Best part? This concert is completely FREE, made possible by a grant through the Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund.
