Friday nights in Brentwood are about to settle into a familiar summer rhythm again. Concerts in the Park opens June 12 at Downtown City Park, bringing free live music back to the lawn and giving locals an easy reason to slow down, pack a few snacks, and stay out a little later.

The series runs select Fridays through August 21 at 7 p.m., with room for blankets, lawn chairs, family groups, and picnic dinners under the evening sky. Brentwood’s city-run concert series was formerly known as Starry Nights, and the updated name still carries the same relaxed small-town feel: music in the park, kids moving around the grass, and neighbors treating the night like a standing summer plan.

The opening night lineup starts with Hip Service on June 12, followed by Sky Eyes on June 26 and Momotombo on July 10. July stays busy with Adam Aldama & The Aces on July 17, Carlos Xavier on July 24, and The Billy Martini Show on July 31, before the series rolls into Amarillo by Morning on August 7, Pop Fiction on August 14, and The Real Thang Band on August 21.

The range in the lineup gives the series a little more reach than a one-note concert calendar. Dance variety, reggae, Latin rock, salsa, throwback hip-hop and R&B, retro revival, country tribute, Top 40, and rock and soul all get a turn, which makes it the kind of series people can revisit more than once without feeling like every Friday lands the same way.

Admission and parking are both free, which keeps the outing simple. For Brentwood families, couples, and groups of friends looking for an easy local night without a big production around it, this is one of those dependable summer staples that does not need much more than good weather, a chair, and a little extra time before heading home.
