Fundraiser for Friends of the Brentwood Library featuring three bestselling authors
The Friends of the Brentwood Library is bringing three authors to Club Los Meganos on Sunday May 31 for an afternoon fundraiser supporting library programs. The event gives local readers a chance to hear from writers who have built national audiences while raising money for a resource used by the whole community.
The lineup includes Alka Joshi, whose novel The Henna Artist became a Reese Witherspoon book club pick; Meg Donohue, a USA Today bestselling author; and Audrey Lee, whose debut novel drew strong reviews. Each author will speak about their work and the writing process, with time for questions.
The Friends of the Brentwood Library runs programs that the city budget does not fully cover, including summer reading initiatives for kids, author visits for schools, and literacy support for adults. The group raises most of its money through events like this one.
Attendees are encouraged to wear a hat, though it is not required. The event includes desserts and a no-host bar. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
