A hands-on community event in Pittsburg focused on tree planting, urban forest education, and family-friendly activities.
Pittsburg has a community event on deck that leans practical instead of flashy. The 2026 Arbor Week Celebration centers on tree planting, local park participation, and a closer look at the city's urban forest efforts.
There will be a professional demonstration on proper tree planting at 9:30 AM—and you'll get the chance to put that knowledge to work by planting a tree in the park yourself. That hands-on angle goes beyond a standard booth setup and makes it worth showing up for if you've ever wanted to understand how trees actually fit into neighborhood spaces.
You'll also learn about Pittsburg's urban forest and Urban Forest Master Plan. It connects the day to the bigger conversation about shade, public space, and how streets and parks feel over time—without turning it into a dry policy briefing.
Food, beverages, raffles, and prizes round out the morning. Whether you're there to dig in the dirt or just grab a bite and learn something, there's a reason to show up.
Event Details Date: Saturday, March 14
