The summer movie series continues with the video game adventure at Civic Center Plaza
Fans of the popular video game can mark their calendars for Friday, July 17 when Oakley's Movies on Main Street series brings A Minecraft Movie to Civic Center Plaza.
The live-action adaptation brings the blocky, creative world of Minecraft to the big screen with an adventure that appeals to longtime players and newcomers alike. The film follows characters navigating the game's familiar cube-based landscapes while building, crafting, and facing challenges that mirror the gameplay millions know and love.
As with all Movies on Main Street events, the evening begins one hour before sunset with themed activities and trivia to get families excited. Kids can participate in Minecraft-inspired games while parents set up blankets and chairs for the main feature. The movie starts at sunset, creating the perfect summer evening atmosphere under the stars.
Popcorn and refreshments will be available from the snack shack, and families are welcome to bring their own food and drinks. The BYO option makes it easy to enjoy dinner picnic-style while watching the movie.
The July showing is part of Oakley's monthly summer movie series that runs through October. With a different family-friendly film each month, the series gives local families a consistent, free entertainment option without having to leave town.
For parents of Minecraft enthusiasts, this showing offers a chance to enjoy the game-based adventure in a community setting. The outdoor venue at 3231 Main Street makes it convenient for families from across Oakley and nearby areas.
