The summer movie series brings family-friendly entertainment to Civic Center Plaza
Oakley's Movies on Main Street series returns Friday June 12 with The Bad Guys 2 at Civic Center Plaza. The free outdoor screening is one of several the city is hosting through October, giving families a regular reason to spend Friday evenings downtown.
The evening starts an hour before sunset with crafts and activities for kids. The movie begins at sunset. Families can bring blankets, chairs, and their own food, or buy snacks from the concession stand behind the stage.
The Bad Guys 2 continues the story of the reformed villain crew from the first film. Mr. Wolf and his team face a new threat that tests whether they have actually changed or are falling back into old habits. The movie carries the same mix of action and comedy that made the original a hit with younger audiences.
Movies on Main Street has been running for several summers and draws a consistent crowd from Oakley and nearby towns. The series is free, which makes it an easy option for families who want to get out of the house without spending much.
Civic Center Plaza is at 3231 Main Street, near the center of town. Parking is available in the lot behind the plaza and on nearby streets.
