Beloved Walnut Festival Finds New Home Amidst Heather Farm Park Renovations |
The cherished Walnut Festival, a staple in the community for nearly nine decades, is set to celebrate its 89th year with a fresh twist.
Due to extensive renovations at Heather Farm Park, the festival will temporarily relocate to the Contra Costa Event Park at the Antioch Fairgrounds.
From October 16 to 19, 2025, attendees can immerse themselves in a vibrant array of activities and entertainment.
The festival promises a plethora of family-friendly attractions, including live music performances, a sprawling carnival featuring over 15 exhilarating rides, and a dedicated Kid Zone.
Visitors can also explore showcases of local and regional talent, encompassing artists, craftsmen, designers, jewelers, and builders.
Food enthusiasts will delight in a diverse selection of culinary specialties, complemented by a craft beer garden.
Admission is priced at $15 per person, with complimentary entry for children aged 6 and under, seniors aged 65 and over, and active military personnel (valid ID required).
Festival hours are as follows:
Thursday: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Friday: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Saturday: 12:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Parking is available for a flat fee of $10 per day.
Upon entering, attendees will receive a notice to pay for parking at one of the two ticket booths before leaving.
After payment, a "Paid Parking Pass" will be issued, which must be presented to the parking attendant upon departure.
For thrill-seekers, "Unlimited" Ride Wristbands are available for $40 each, granting full access to all carnival rides for the day of purchase.
These wristbands can be purchased inside the festival grounds and are valid for one day only.
It's important to note that the wristband price is separate from the general admission fee.
As the festival makes its temporary move to Antioch, it joins a vibrant lineup of community events in the area.
The Walnut Festival Association remains committed to delivering a memorable experience for all attendees.
They express their gratitude for the community's continued support and look forward to welcoming everyone to the Contra Costa Event Park for this year's festivities.
